Metro Tyler Jones Scholarship

will be offered by the

Metropolitan Builders & Contractors Association of NJ

 

The charitable arm of the Metropolitan Builders & Contractors Association of NJ is offering two educational and technical training scholarships.  These funds are available to Morris, Essex, Union, Somerset, Hunterdon, and Warren residents intending to pursue a career associated with the home building/remodeling industry.  The 2024 awards are funded through the generosity  Metropolitan Builders & Contractors Association of NJ members and other interested parties.  The Association is responding to the industry’s dire need for skilled craftsmen and craftswomen.  Two scholarships will be awarded.

 

WHO CAN APPLY:

  • Any resident of Morris, Essex, Union, Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum high school diploma (by June 2025)
  • Attending part-time or full-time at an accredited institution (college or trade school)
  • Pursuing a building/construction-related degree or certification
  • Starting no later than September 2025

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Submit scholarship application – see attached

DUE DATE:

  • May 15, 2025

AWARD DATE:

  • June 2025

 

Details

In all cases, candidates must be full-time or part-time students who will attend accredited institutions intending to pursue a building/construction-related degree or certification.  Construction-related is defined as general construction (i.e., carpenter, plumber, electrician, or any other trade related to the building/remodeling industry) or degree programs including, but not limited to: Drafting and Design, Construction Technology, Mechanical Contracting, HVAC Technology, Real Estate, Electrical Engineering, Architectural  Design, Surveying, Civil Engineering, Environmental Technology, Land Use Management, Construction and Business Management, and Landscape Architecture.

Scholarships will be awarded through tuition paid directly to the institution. The selection process, conducted by the Scholarship Fund Committee, will be based on the following criteria: (1) the student’s desire to enter the building/remodeling industry as a career, (2) the student’s academic ability/potential and (3) the student’s financial need.

2025 Metro PWB Scholarship

Thank you to our sponsors, who have played an integral part in our 2025 PWB Scholarship Program. 

Two (2) scholarships valued at $1,250 in financial aid are available from the Metropolitan Builders & Contractors Association of NJ (METRO) Professional Women in Building Council (PWB).  The scholarship is limited to FEMALE students who live or attend school in Morris, Essex, Warren, Hunterdon, Somerset or Union County.  These scholarships are available only to students (full or part-time) who will be matriculating at an accredited, post-secondary school, (college, vocational/trade school, etc.) pursuing a course of study related to the fields of real estate development and construction. The fields of real estate development and construction include the following: Air Conditioning, Plumbing and Heating Technology; Electrician Training, Masonry, Carpentry, Construction Materials Handling, Job-Site Supervision, Construction Planning, Surveying, Construction Information Management, Construction Business Management, Construction Management or Technology.  Applications must be submitted by May 15th.
