George Gershwin’s compositions have been adapted for use in plays and opera’s, but I bet he never thought his writing would be applicable to builders.

Yes, we’re in summertime and the living is easy. He advocated trust and comfort in this song.  In summer it is easy to feel as such.  Revel in the energy of construction, the smell of new wood, the sunshine on the drying concrete, the dew drops on new grass.

Summertime is the best season for builders. Enjoy your tradesmen and respect their needs for high production and a slice of family time.  The fine line of working too hard and just not being productive enough in these next few months is often hard to see.   I do advocate 100% focus on your business.  Without it, your cash flow withers and fall leading to winter can be hobbling. Now is the time to crank out productivity.  Get others working and track production.  Be sure you are managing your projects to 100% efficiency. Stay on the business and it will carry you through tougher seasons.

We are running a few new NAHB Classes this summer.  These can help you stay fresh on content mastery.  We have a robust fall calendar planned and your time spent with us will be rewarded in business relationships.

Yep, summertime and the livin’ is easy. Don’t be lax. Stay focused on your business. The objectives you wrote last winter for 2017 should be coming into actionable clarity. Every day counts in business regardless of the weather or of the season.  This is the season of productivity. Make it so.
